Come and have fun on the Museum stand!
During this great celebration of all things aerospace, the Safran Museum stand is exhibiting several pieces from its collection to introduce visitors to this world. For example, you will get to see:
- The Omega rotary engine that equipped aircraft in the early twentieth century,
- A model of the Ariane 4 launcher,
- The Larzac engine, which equips the Alpha Jets of the Patrouille de France,
- A rocket from the Rocketry Challenge, whose international final was held on June 22 and 23 last, during the Paris Air Show, with third place going to the French team supported by Safran!
During the Air Show, the volunteers of the Association of Friends of the Safran Museum are at hand to share their passion with a broad public. And also to inspire visitors to come and discover the Safran Museum (located in Villaroche, next to the Safran Aircraft Engines plant in Seine-et-Marne, just outside of Paris), the world's largest aircraft engine museum!
Dominique Beaufrère, Director of the Safran Museum, commented: "This year, the Museum stand is primarily attracting families, but also the most curious visitors. After discovering the pieces exhibited on the stand, everyone wants to come to the Museum at some later point to see the rest of the collection, but also to test the flight simulators. The Paris Air Show gives us an opportunity to showcase the Museum, as well as the activities and lectures we program throughout the year, while informing people about our professions."
The youngest visitors are sometimes the most enthusiastic! 10-year-old Thibault states: "This is my first time to the Paris Air Show, where I discovered the Safran Museum stand! I really enjoyed seeing the engines, especially the oldest one!"
In addition to displaying its collection, last May the Safran Museum inaugurated an "Escape Game" on the theme of the conquest of space… It also provides an audio guide device for an even richer visit, and is now open on the second and last Saturday of every month in addition to Wednesdays.
